The Healthcare Conference
Doron Eitan, Novolog’s Healthcare Division Manager, took part in the healthcare conference ofthe Israeli newspaper and website, Yedioth Ahronoth and ynet, and outlined Novolog Group’svision for shifting many healthcare services to patients’ homes via technology.
“When most citizens of the State of Israel interact with medical services, they do not interact with hospitals, they interact with a community, with other services, and they want availability, service orientation and quality,” Eitan said at the conference. “We at Novolog see this situation and believe that technology can be a significant factor in making medical services accessible at home to the extent possible – from correct detection at the right time, to rapid diagnoses and the provision of services – in the patient’s natural environment. In this respect, technology is the tiebreaker, from scheduling an appointment, and monitoring, to providing physicians with tools for better decision-making. Technology is capable of providing a holistic approach to a patient’s healthcare, observes the patient 24/7 and gives him more than the one-time events that happen today in community medicine.”
“The assimilation and validation of technology is always a complex matter,” said Mr. Eitan, “but the endless telephone queues, like a harbinger, have taught us that, even in the world of medicine, notwithstanding our desire for personal communications, very often today we want it here and now, on our mobile device.
Technologies will only multiply and there are endless means, stickers and devices that transmit and eventually enable us all to get access to physicians and to information. By the way, this is one of the challenges: the more technologies there are, the more information we have. What do we do with it? How does the physician see this information? So we need to help physicians reach decisions. This doesn't substitute for physicians, but it definitely can dramatically improve their decision-making process.”
